Privacy policy

Updated 12 October 2026. Chinmaya Nova — Gurudev Ashtothram is a chanting tracker for Chinmaya Vidyalaya Nagapattinam, developed by Skychrolon.

Data we use

We process your school-issued name, username, role, password hash, chanting dates, correction reasons and review notes to authenticate you and provide the tracker. Authorized school staff can view participation and manage records. Security records include sign-in events and hashed account/IP rate-limit keys. Please do not include sensitive personal information in free-text notes.

Notifications and service providers

Google Firebase Cloud Messaging processes app/device registration identifiers to deliver reminders. Android notification permission is optional. Hosting providers process network requests and may keep access/error logs. App fonts can be downloaded from Google Fonts. The website also loads fonts and Bootstrap from Google Fonts and jsDelivr; these services receive network request information. We do not use advertising SDKs or sell your tracker data.

Device storage and security

The app stores your session in encrypted platform storage. Profile information, progress and unsent dated marks are stored locally to support offline use. The browser stores offline progress and unsent marks in local storage. Communication uses HTTPS on the published service. Signing out removes your login session but preserves unsent marks; clearing app/browser storage removes local copies.

Account and data deletion

Use Delete account on this website or in the app's About screen. Confirm your current password to permanently delete your account, sessions, notification token, chanting records and correction requests from the active tracker database. Identifying details in affected audit events are redacted; event type and time remain for security. Reviews or marks on other participants' records retain those records with your attribution removed. The last school administrator must transfer administration first.

If you cannot sign in, contact skychrolon@gmail.com to request deletion or access assistance. We verify ownership before handling emailed requests. Local copies on other devices and provider logs/backups may remain until storage is cleared or the provider's retention period expires; contact us for assistance and the applicable hosting retention period. Deletion does not remove unrelated school records outside this tracker.
